Isosorbide oral solution

This product is a dehydrated derivative of sorbitol. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of intravenously injected mannitol and sorbitol. It is an oral osmotic dehydration diuretic. It increases plasma osmotic pressure, causing water in tissues (including eyes, brain, cerebrospinal fluid, etc.) to enter blood vessels, thereby reducing tissue edema, intraocular pressure, intracranial pressure, and cerebrospinal fluid volume and pressure. The LD50 for mice and rats is 23.3g/kg and 25.8g/kg for oral administration, and 17.6g/kg and 21.02g/kg for intraperitoneal administration, respectively.

Main ingredients: 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-sorbitol.

This product is a colorless or slightly yellow clear liquid.

Used to treat cerebral edema and glaucoma.

Oral administration, 40-50 ml at a time, 3 times a day; for children, 0.5 g/kg at a time, 3 times a day or as directed by a doctor.

The main adverse reactions include nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and occasional abdominal pain. Long-term use often causes electrolyte imbalance.

Patients with active intracranial bleeding and intracranial hematoma will have bleeding aggravated by volume expansion.

Precautions for children: There are no special precautions for children to use this drug. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: It is not clear whether it can be secreted through breast milk. Precautions for the elderly: The elderly are more likely to suffer from kidney damage after using this drug. With age, the chance of kidney damage increases, so the dosage should be appropriately controlled.

1. It can increase the toxicity of digitalis, which is related to hypokalemia; 2. It can increase the diuretic and intraocular pressure-lowering effects of diuretics and carbonic anhydride inhibitors, and the dose should be adjusted when combined with these drugs. Drug overdose: It can easily cause diarrhea, and blood pressure, electrolytes and renal function should be closely monitored.
