Pharmacological action: This product is a radiosensitizer, which has a radiosensitizing effect on the growth of human cervical cancer, mouse Ehrlich ascites tumor, mouse lymphocytic leukemia and other cell lines, tumor-bearing animal tumors and hypoxic cells. Its mechanism of action is: inhibiting the respiration of malignant tumor cells and reducing oxygen consumption; selectively reducing the glutathione content in malignant tumor cells; inhibiting the synthesis of malignant tumor cells and the repair after DNA rupture; blocking the growth cycle of malignant tumor cells in the radiation-sensitive G1 phase. Toxicological action: Acute toxicity: The LD50 of iris extract after a single oral gavage is 2590.6 mg/kg; the LD50 of a single intraperitoneal injection in mice is 35.06±0.99 mg/kg. The symptoms of animal poisoning are loose hair, anorexia, loose stools, and gastrointestinal bloating can be seen in autopsy. Long-term toxicity: 1. Rats were given 62.5, 125, and 250 mg/kg of iris extract by daily gavage for three months. The results showed that except for liver function (SGPT was slightly increased by iris extract), there were no significant changes in blood picture and other major biochemical indicators. 2. Dogs were given 30 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg of iris extract by daily gavage for two months. The results showed that no substantial damage to the main organs was caused by the drug. The main toxicity was gastrointestinal reaction, and this reaction recovered on its own with time extension or reduction of dosage. Teratogenicity test: The results show that oral administration of 300 mg/kg of iris extract to pregnant mice for 10 consecutive days can cause 25% of the animals to die and cause severe embryotoxicity, causing most pregnant mice to miscarry and early fetal resorption, but it does not cause deformities in the bones and organs of the fetuses; animals in the 60 mg/kg group were gavaged for 10 days, except for increased secretions in the perineum of some animals, and there were no obvious symptoms of poisoning. After stopping the drug, the symptoms disappeared automatically, and the bones and organs of the fetuses did not cause deformities, indicating that iris extract is a non-teratogen. Mutagenicity test: Microbial reverse mutation test, sister chromosome exchange test, and micronucleus test show that iris extract is a non-mutagenic substance.

Take orally after meals, 2 times a day, 2 capsules each time, before and after radiotherapy. Children should take a reduced dose. This product should be taken 2 to 3 days before radiotherapy and continue until the end of radiotherapy.

Some patients have mild gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. The incidence is higher than that of simple radiotherapy, which generally does not affect continued medication. For individual patients with reactions, the dosage can be reduced or symptomatic treatment can be given. Taking it after meals can reduce gastric reactions.
