Appearance
This product is a colorless or almost colorless clear liquid with a sweet taste.
Indication
Replenish heat energy and body fluids. Used for insufficient food intake or large amount of body fluid loss caused by various reasons.
Usage and Dosage
1. Supplementing heat energy. When patients eat less or cannot eat for some reason, they can generally be given 10% to 25% glucose injection intravenous drip and replenish body fluids at the same time. The amount of glucose is calculated based on the required heat energy. 2. Total intravenous nutrition therapy. Glucose is the most important energy supply substance for this therapy. In non-protein heat energy, the ratio of glucose to fat heat supply is 2:1. The specific dosage is determined by the clinical heat requirement. According to the need for fluid replacement, glucose can be prepared into different concentrations of 25% to 50%. If necessary, insulin can be added. Add 1 unit of regular insulin for every 5 to 10g of glucose.
Adverse Reactions
1 Excessive and rapid infusion can cause water and sodium retention, resulting in edema, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, chest tightness, dyspnea, and even acute left heart failure. 2 Improper administration of hypertonic sodium chloride can cause hypernatremia. 3 Excessive and rapid administration of hypotonic sodium chloride can cause hemolysis, cerebral edema, etc. 4 Phlebitis: occurs when hypertonic glucose injection is dripped. The incidence of phlebitis decreases when a large vein is used for drip. 5 If a high-concentration solution is injected, extravasation may cause local swelling and pain. 6 Reactive hypoglycemia: It is prone to occur when combined with excessive use of insulin, the original tendency to hypoglycemia, and when total intravenous nutrition therapy is suddenly stopped. 7 Hyperglycemic non-ketotic coma: It is more common in patients with diabetes, stress, use of large doses of glucocorticoids, and uremia peritoneal dialysis patients who are given hypertonic glucose solutions and total intravenous nutrition therapy intraperitoneally. 8 Electrolyte imbalance: Hypokalemia, hyponatremia, and hypophosphatemia are prone to occur when glucose is simply supplemented for a long time.
Precautions
1. Patients with brain, kidney and heart dysfunction; 2. Patients with low plasma protein; 3. Patients with uncontrolled diabetes and ketoacidosis; 4. Patients with hyperosmotic dehydration; 5. Hyperglycemia and non-hyperosmotic state.
