Guaifenesin syrup

Guaifenesin is a stimulant expectorant that can stimulate the gastric mucosa, reflexively causing increased secretion of respiratory glands, diluting sputum and making it easier to cough up, thereby producing an expectorant effect.

This product contains 20 mg of guaifenesin per ml. The excipients are: sucrose, citric acid, carmine, caramel, menthol, sodium benzoate, hydroxymethyl ester, strawberry flavor, sorbitol, ethanol, and purified water.

This product is a dark red transparent viscous liquid with the aromatic smell of flavoring.

Used for cough and sputum caused by respiratory tract infections.

Oral administration: 5-10 ml for children over 12 years old, 3 times a day. Take after meals. 1-3 years old children (physique 10-15 kg) 2-3 ml 3 times a day. 4-6 years old children (physique 16-21 kg) 3.5-4.5 ml 3 times a day. 7-9 years old children (physique 22-27 kg) 5-6 ml 3 times a day. 10-12 years old children (physique 28-32 kg) 6.5-7.5 ml 3 times a day.

Symptoms may include nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, drowsiness and allergies.

1. It is contraindicated for patients with pulmonary hemorrhage, nephritis and acute gastroenteritis. 2. It is contraindicated for women within 3 months of pregnancy.

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not for use by women within 3 months of pregnancy. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
