Piroxicam Tablets
Function and Efficacy
[Pharmacology and Toxicology] It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. This product exerts its pharmacological effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase to reduce the synthesis of local prostaglandins in tissues, inhibiting the chemotaxis of leukocytes and the release of lysosomal enzymes. Results of acute toxicity test: The oral LD50 of mice is 360mg/kg. [Pharmacokinetics] Good oral absorption. Food can reduce the absorption rate, but does not affect the total amount of absorption. The plasma protein binding rate is as high as more than 90%. Metabolized by the liver. The average T1/2 is 50 hours (30-86 hours), and the T1/2 is prolonged in patients with renal insufficiency. Due to the long half-life, a single dose can maintain a relatively stable blood drug concentration for 24 hours, and multiple doses are prone to accumulation. A single dose of 20mg, the blood drug concentration reaches the peak in 3-5 hours, and the effective blood drug concentration is 1.5-2μg/ml. The stable blood drug concentration can be reached 7-12 days after the start of treatment. 66% is excreted from the kidneys, 33% is excreted from the feces, and 5% is in its original form.
