Application:
Ethyl Lactate is an environmentally benign solvent. Lactate esters have found industrial applications
in specialty coatings, inks, cleaners and standard cleaning products. Bio-solvents are progressively replacing petrochemical solvents and ethyl lactate serves as a biodegradable and non-toxic solvent which is sought after especially in the field of microelectronics and complies with the quality demands of the semiconductor industry.
Methyl lactate is one active compound of a chiral intermediate; it is use in pesticide and fine chemistry.
Greases are easily dissolved in L-methyl lactate so that it can be used in various surfaces cleaning processes.
It is also an excellent solvent in dairy chemistry.
