    The commonly used name is called 2-hydroxymethane-2-methyl-1,3 propanediol. Other names are trimethylolethane, TME, PG, 1,1,1-trimethylolethane and 2,2-bis (hydroxymethane) propanol. Trimethylolethane (TME) is an odorless, free-flowing, white crystalline solid. Melting point ℃: 199-203 ℃ Flash point (open cup): 160 ℃. Solubility [g / 100g solvent] (25 ° C): water 140, methanol 75.2, ethanol 27.9.

    Trimethylolethane is a unique and versatile neopentane polyol with three highly reactive hydroxyl groups. Applications include the production of powder coating resins, high solid resins, alkyd resins, polyesters and reducible resins. TME can also be used in titanium dioxide pigments, silicone-modified polyester resins, polyurethanes, epoxy resins, synthetic lubricants, plasticizers, inks, photosensitive chemicals, and adhesives. The neopentane structure can provide excellent stability, improve heat, light, hydrolysis and oxidation performance; and has excellent weather resistance, gloss and chemical resistance.
