Used as solvent for spinning polyacrylonitrile fiber, chemical analysis reagent, color film washing agent, some plant defoliating agent, and airport road weedkiller. Also used in pharmaceutical, printing and dyeing, rubber treatment, black nickel plating and the manufacture of artificial mustard oil.
