Methyl-4-Chloro-7-methoxyquinoline-6-carboxylate is used pharmaceutically for treating infection after burns. It is also used as reagents in the preparation of naphthamides as inhibitors of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor tyrosine kinase.

    Chemical Properties
4-Chloro-7-methoxyquinoline-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester is a bright yellow or orange solid at room temperature and pressure. It is a benzoquinoline derivative with a certain degree of alkalinity and is mainly used in medicines. , synthesis of dyes.

    Usage
4-Chloro-7-methoxyquinoline-6-carboxylic acid methyl ester can be used in the preparation of drug molecules and dyes. For example, it can be used to prepare the drug molecule lenvatinib. Lenvatinib is an oral multi-target tyrosine. RTK inhibitors, in addition to inhibiting RTKs related to pro-angiogenic and oncogenic signaling pathways, can also selectively inhibit the kinase activity of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptors. In organic synthesis transformations, the ester group in the structure can be easily converted into functional groups such as hydroxyl or aldehyde groups; in addition, chlorine atoms can be attacked by nucleophiles to obtain dechlorinated functionalized products.
