Metronidazole is mainly used to treat or prevent the systemic or local infection caused by the above anaerobic bacteria, such as the anaerobic bacteria infection in abdominal cavity, digestive tract, female reproductive system, lower respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue, bone and joint, etc. it is also effective for septicemia, endocarditis, meningeal infection and colitis caused by antibiotics. The treatment of tetanus is often combined with tetanus antitoxin (TAT). It can also be used for oral anaerobic infection.
