An alkaloid extracted from Chuanxiong (Ligusticum wallichii). It has a role as an antineoplastic agent, an apoptosis inhibitor, a neuroprotective agent, a vasodilator agent, a platelet aggregation inhibitor and a bacterial metabolite.
