Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with a bacteriostatic effect (inhibiting the synthetus of the bacteria proteins) against gram-positive and some gram-negative microorganisms. It also improves weight gain and feed conversion efficiency. Applied orally, the antibiotic is absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract.
Tylosin phosphate is mainly used for the prevention of pigs' atrophic rhinitis and bacilli dysentery, cattles' liver abscess casused by pyogenic actinomycosis and chicken's chronic respiratory disease.
