Description

Dimethyl fumarate, also known as (E) 2-dimethyl fumarate, dimethyl fumarate and dimethyl allomaleate, is commonly known as anti mildew preservative mycostar 1, referred to as DMF for short. It is white crystal or crystalline powder at room temperature. Soluble in ethyl acetate, chloroform, acetone and alcohols, slightly soluble in ether and slightly soluble in water. DMF is toxic. Dimethyl fumarate has been widely used in food, beverage, feed, traditional Chinese medicine, cosmetics, fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, etc. It is now classified as a non edible substance and shall not be used in food (including flour products).

Applications

Dimethyl fumarate has the characteristics of high efficiency and broad-spectrum antibacterial, and has special antibacterial effect on molds. It has both insecticidal activity and contact killing and fumigation effects. It has been widely used in mildew prevention, anti-corrosion, insect prevention and preservation of feed, fish, meat, food etc.. Because DMF is corrosive and allergic to human body, it is now classified as a non edible substance and shall not be used in food (including flour products). According to domestic research, DMF has good antifungal ability, and its antifungal effect on feed is better than acid preservatives such as propionate, sorbic acid and benzoic acid.

Storage

Store in dry conditions below 30º C, away from sunlight. After opening, it should be stored in a separate package.
