Properties:

Dimethyl sulfoxide is a good polar solvent for unsaturated, nitrogen-containing and aromatic compounds. DMSO is miscible with water, ethanol, acetone, chloroform, diethyl ether, benzene, chloroform and most organic solvents. It should not be used with strong oxidizing or reducing agents
