Mechanism:Beinaglutide is a recombinant human GLP-1(7-36) peptide with nearly 100% homology to the endogenous human GLP-1 sequence. Unlike other GLP-1R agonists, it is not modified to resist DPP-IV degradation, giving it a short half-life of ~2 minutes. It requires three-times-daily subcutaneous injection. It enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, inhibits gastric emptying, and reduces food intake.
Activity note:Beinaglutide is the native GLP-1(7-36) sequence; it binds GLP-1R with potency comparable to endogenous GLP-1. Specific EC50 values are not in standard drug databases; native GLP-1 EC50 is ~10 pM.
