Nature:
- Appearance: dinaphthalene is colorless crystal or white powder.
- Odor: no obvious odor.
- Solubility: almost insoluble in water at room temperature, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, benzene, etc.

Purpose:
- dinaphthene is widely used in the dye industry as a precursor for the synthesis of blue dyes.
- It can also be used in the preparation of optical brighteners, pigments and rubber additives.

Preparation:
Dinaphthalene can be obtained by the reaction of naphthalene and benzene through thermal cracking and cyclization. The specific method is as follows:
Place the benzene and naphthalene in the heating device.
When heated to the appropriate temperature (usually between 300-400°C), the reaction lasts about 3-6 hours.
After cooling, the products were separated and purified.

DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Recycle to process, if possible. Consult your local regional authorities. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of the substance.
