nature
The product is white or yellowish crystalline powder, soluble in methanol, ester and aromatic hydrocarbons, insoluble in water. Solubility in water is about 4ug/mL. Highly soluble in methyl ethyl ketone, propylene glycol or polypropylene glycol, insoluble in saturated hydrocarbons such as cyclohexane.

It is prepared by hydrogenation of the corresponding unsaturated compound in benzene at ambient pressure under catalysis and action.

Developed by Merk Sharp&Dohme in the United States, it was listed in 1987. The product is a derivative of abamectin and is an oral semi-synthetic broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug. Has effects on most (but not all) nematodes of various life cycles; It is effective against microfilariae of Onchocerca, but not against adults. I has repellent activity against nematodes, hookworms, roundworms, worms, insects and mites.
