Product description
Boric acid is a crystalline compound produced by dissolving boron trioxide in water. It is an inorganic acid. It mainly includes tetraboric acid H2B4O7 (also known as pyoboric acid), metaboric acid (HBO2)n and orthoboric acid H3BO3 (also known as orthoboric acid). Among them, orthoboric acid contains the most water and is the most stable. Orthoboric acid, also referred to as boric acid, appears as white powdery crystals or triclinic scaly chemicalbook crystals, which are shiny. Has a slight bitter taste. It feels greasy in contact with skin. Odorless, soluble in water, ethanol, glycerin, ethers and essential oils. The aqueous solution is weakly acidic. When orthoboric acid is heated to 70-100℃, it gradually dehydrates into metaboric acid and becomes pyroboric acid at 150℃-160℃. 300 At ℃ it becomes boric anhydride (B2O3). Application
Boric acid is mainly used in glass products, especially those that are resistant to heat and chemicals. Boron carbide, made from boric acid, can be used as an abrasive. In addition, it can be used in enamel, ceramic glaze and inorganic pigments, fertilizers and metallurgical production.
