4-[(Dipropylamino)sulfonyl]benzoic acid sodium salt

Probenecid sodium is a white crystalline powder; odorless and slightly bitter. This product is slightly soluble in ethanol or ethanol, almost insoluble in water; soluble in dilute sodium hydroxide solution, almost insoluble in dilute acid.
Usage: Antibiotic and anti-infective raw materials
Pharmacological effects: This product is a chemically synthesized benzoic acid derivative. It can inhibit the reabsorption of urate by renal tubules, promote uric acid excretion, and reduce plasma urate concentration. It can be used for chronic gout, but is ineffective for acute gout (because it has no analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects). It can also inhibit the excretion of penicillins, cephalosporins, para-aminosalicylic acid and other drugs, so combined with penicillins and cephalosporins, it can increase the blood concentration of the drug, prolong its efficacy, and reduce its dosage.
Clinically used to treat gouty arthritis associated with hyperuricemia. It can also be used as a synergist for penicillin and cephalosporin treatment to increase the blood concentration of these drugs.
Indications:
(1) Inhibit the active reabsorption of urate in the proximal renal tubule, increase the excretion of urate and reduce the concentration of urate in the blood.
(2) It can alleviate or prevent the formation of urate nodules and reduce joint damage.
(3) It can also promote the dissolution of formed urate and has no anti-inflammatory or analgesic effect. For the treatment of chronic gout.
Usage and dosage:
1) Treatment of gout and hyperuricemia: Take orally, 1.25-2.5G each time for horses and cattle, 0.5g for sheep and pigs, 40MG for chickens, 60MG for cats and dogs, twice a day.

Precautions:

(3) People with reduced renal function and those with allergic reactions to sulfonamides should not use this product (due to cross-allergic reactions between this product and sulfonamides).
