Proflorin E is a scientific research compound with antioxidant activity, which can inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species. Reactive oxygen species include oxygen anion O2-, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), hydroxyl radical (OH-) and nitric oxide, etc., with short half-life and fat solubility. The inhibition of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is mainly reflected in the transition from the Ⅲ state to the IV state of the mitochondrial electron transport chain, which inhibits the leakage of electrons from the substrate and oxygen end of the respiratory chain in the highly reduced state, thus inhibiting the generation of ROS. The chemical structure of proflorin E is gamma-diethylenetriamine propyl methyldimethoxysilane.
