What is Spiramycin Adipate?

Spiramycin, white or slightly yellow powder, slightly odor; Micro-hygroscopic;

This product is dissolved in metnol, ethanol, acene or ether, almost insoluble in water, insoluble in petrolum eter.It is a macrolide antibiotic obtained from the broth of Streptomyces ambofaciens.

Spiramycin is acetate acetate of acetylspiramycin, which shows strong antibacterial effect after oral administration of deacetylation. Spiramycin is a very strong bacteriostatic agent that only acts as a bactericidal agent at very high concentrations.
