B pyridoxine, also known as pyridoxine or anti-pellagra vitamin, scientific name 2-methyl-3-hydroxy-4, 5-dihydroxymethylpyridoxine hydrochloride, common name pyridoxine hydrochloride, usually with its hydrochloride as a preparation, white or slightly yellow crystalline powder, melting point 204-206 ℃(decomposition). Soluble in water, ethanol and acetone, slightly soluble in ether. Sour bitter taste, stable in the air, gradually deteriorated in the Chemicalbook sunlight, easy to sublimate. Reddish brown in reaction with ferric chloride. It is found in rice bran, vegetables, yeast, molasses, fat, etc. It can be synthesized from methyl methoxyacetate, acetone and ethyl cyanoacetate. It is used for the prevention and treatment of hyperemesis gravidarum, radiation sickness vomiting, isoniazid poisoning, and gastrointestinal reactions to anti-tumor drugs, and sometimes as an adjunctive treatment for pellagra and other malnutrition.
