What is Dihydrostreptomycin Sulfate ?

Dihydrostreptomycin sulphate is freely soluble in water,practically in soluble acetone in ethanol(96%) and in methanol.
It has the advantages of strong bactericidal activity, low toxicity, wide indications and good clinical efficacy, and has been used in many veterinary clinical experiments.It is suitable for the treatment of infections caused by various gram-negative bacteria, such as tuberculosis, pertussis, plague, tularsis and pneumonia.

Streptomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic drug. Streptomycin Sulfate has a strong antibacterial effect against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It has a weak antibacterial effect against most Gram-positive cocci (such as various streptococci) and Bacillus (such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and anaerobic bacteria). Negative bacilli have a strong antibacterial effect. This product is effective against all kinds of cutaneous tuberculosis and has the effect of inhibiting the reproduction and toxin production of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. At high concentrations (>0.4 μg/mL), it has a bactericidal effect. Mycobacterium tuberculosis resistance to streptomycin produced rapidly and should be combined with other anti-tuberculosis drugs.

Mainly used for sensitive gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria caused by upper respiratory tract infection, tonsillitis,biliary infection, lymphadenitis, cellulitis,geriatric chronic bronchitis, etc., also used in the treatment of typhus, qiang worm disease,such as mycoplasma pneumonia.

Can be used in the treatment of cholera, can also be used to prevent malignant malaria and leptospira infection.
