What is Calcium Stearate ?

Calcium stearate is White powder, insoluble in water, cold ethanol and eth yl ether, soluble in organic solvents such as hot benzene, benzene and turpentine, slightly soluble in hot ethanol and eth yl ether.When heated to 400ºC, it will decompose slowly and be flammable. When met with strong acid, it will decompose into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salt, which has hygroscopic property.
