Colorless crystalline powder, odorless, slightly bitter. Melting point>300℃. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether, soluble in sodium hydroxide solution to form sodium salt.

Application

Diatrizoate is a diagnostic drug and contrast agent. However, diatrizoate is not used directly for contrast imaging. Instead, it is prepared into sodium diatrizoate and diatrizoate meglumine injection for clinical contrast imaging, and is used for urinary tract, cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and peripheral vascular angiography. For usage, refer to the introduction of sodium diatrizoate and diatrizoate meglumine. Do not use if you are allergic to iodine.
