Properties:

Amorphous white powder or granules, toxic, specific gravity 4.43, almost insoluble in water (solubility in water is 1.72 mg/100 ml water), soluble in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and acetic acid, and begins to decompose into barium oxide and carbon dioxide at about 1300℃, with a melting point of 1740℃ (90 atmospheres).

Uses:

Barium carbonate is an important inorganic salt product that can be used in color TV picture tubes, magnetic materials, optical glass, ceramics, paints, steel carburizing, welding rods, porcelain pigments, rubber, coatings, fireworks and other barium salt manufacturing industries.
