    Formamide has active reactivity and special dissolution ability, can be used as organic synthesis raw material, paper treatment agent, fiber industry softener, animal glue softener, and also used as an analytical reagent to determine the amino acid content in rice. In organic synthesis, the use of medicine is mostly, and there are many uses in pesticides, dyes, pigments, spices, auxiliaries. It is also an excellent organic solvent, mainly used in spinning and ion exchange resins of acrylonitrile copolymers, as well as anti-static coating or conductive coating of plastic products. In addition, it is also used to separate chlorosilane, purify oil and so on. Formamide can undergo a variety of reactions, in addition to the reaction involving three hydrogens, it can also undergo dehydration, deCO, introduction of amino groups, introduction of acyl groups and cyclization reactions. Take loop union as an example. Diethyl malonate is cyclically combined with formamide to obtain 4, 6-dihydroxypyrimidine, an intermediate of vitamin B4. Anthranilic acid was combined with amide to obtain the antiarrhythmic intermediate quinazolone-4. The xanthine oxidase inhibitor allopurinol was obtained by the cyclic synthesis of 3-amino-4-ethoxycarbonyl pyrazole with formamide. Ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid was synthesized with formamide to obtain the anticancer drug ethylimide. Methyl ethyl methoxymalonate is cyclically combined with formamide to obtain the intermediate of sulfonamides, 5-methoxy-4, 6-dihydroxypyrimidine disodium.

    FORMAMIDE is incompatible with strong oxidizers, acids and bases. Sensitive to light. Reacts with water very slowly at room temperature, but rate is accelerated by acids and bases at elevated temperatures. Incompatible with iodine, pyridine and sulfur trioxide. Reacts explosively with furfuryl alcohol, H2O2, Tl(NO3)3.H2O, nitromethane and P2O5.
