Boiling points of 188.2 ℃ and 83.2 ℃ (1333 Pa), it is miscible in water, acetone, ethyl acetate, and chloroform, and soluble in ether. Soluble in many essential oils, but not miscible with petroleum ether, paraffin, and fats. It is more stable to heat and light, and more stable at low temperatures. Propylene glycol can be oxidized to acetaldehyde, lactic acid, pyruvic acid, and acetic acid at high temperatures.
