Recombinant human TPO is a lineage-specific growth factor produced in liver, kidney, and skeletal muscle. It stimulates megakaryocyte proliferation and maturation, and promotes platelet circulation levels in the body. TPO signaling is realized through the c-mpl receptor and is an important regulator of circulating platelets.

The ED50 value measured by dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation capacity of human MO7e cells was ≤2.0 ng/ml, and corresponding specific activity was ≥5×105IU/mg.
