      Product Detail

    Agricultural applications:
Urea is a high concentration nitrogen fertilizer, which is a neutral quick acting fertilizer and can also be used to produce various compound fertilizers. No harmful substances remain in the soil, and long-term application has no adverse effects. Animal husbandry can be used as feed for ruminants. However, excessive temperature during granulation can produce a small amount of biuret, also known as biuret, which has an inhibitory effect on crops. China stipulates that the urea urea content for fertilizer should be less than 0.5%. When the urea content exceeds 1%, it cannot be used as seed fertilizer, seedling fertilizer, and foliar fertilizer. The urea content during other application periods should not be too high or too concentrated.
Urea is an organic nitrogen fertilizer that can only be absorbed and utilized by crops after being hydrolyzed into ammonium carbonate or ammonium bicarbonate through the action of urease in the soil. Therefore, urea should be applied 4-8 days before the fertilizer requirement period of crops.
    Commercial applications:
Raw materials for special plastics, especially urea formaldehyde resin
    Raw materials for certain adhesives
    Composition of fertilizers and feed
Replacing antifreeze with salt sprinkled on the streets, the advantage is that it does not corrode metals
    Enhance the odor of cigarettes
Brown pepper and salt rolls given to industrial production
Ingredients of certain shampoo and cleaning agents
The ingredients of the emergency refrigeration package, as the reaction between urea and water will absorb heat
Dealing with exhaust gases from diesel engines, engines, and thermal power plants, especially reducing their nitrogen oxide levels
The components of rain promoting agents (complex salts)
Previously used to separate paraffin because urea can form inclusion compounds
    Refractory materials
Composition of environmentally friendly engine fuel
    Ingredients of teeth whitening products
    For chemical fertilizers
Important auxiliary agents during dyeing and printing

    Laboratory applications:
Urea can effectively denature proteins, especially those that break non covalent bonds. This feature can increase the solubility of certain proteins, with a concentration of up to 10 moles per volume. Urea can also be used to manufacture urea nitrate.
    Feed additives:
The shortage of human food resources and protein has also caused a major challenge in the feed industry. Businesses actively seek new sources of protein and expand to nitrogen sources beyond protein, such as high nitrogen urea.
In 1897, Waesk et al. proposed the idea that ruminants could convert non protein nitrogen into bacterial proteins. In 1949, C J. Watson et al. fed sheep urea capsules labeled with N15, and after 4 days, protein containing N15 was detected in sheep blood, liver, and kidneys. This confirms that ruminants can utilize non protein nitrogen. In the same year, J. K. Looli et al. fed sheep with urea as the sole nitrogen source and found that sheep were able to maintain a positive nitrogen balance, indicating that microorganisms in the rumen of sheep could use urea to synthesize the 10 essential amino acids required for their growth. From then on, urea and urea compounds became feed additives for ruminants.
    Application in cosmetics:
Urea is a useful moisturizing ingredient that exists in the stratum corneum of the skin and is a major component of the natural moisturizing factor NMF. For the skin, urea has the effects of moisturizing and softening the keratin, so it can also prevent the stratum corneum from blocking the pores, thereby improving the problem of acne. It is used to add moisturizing ingredients in facial mask, skin care lotion, cream, hand cream and other products. The addition ratio is 3-5%.
    Industrial applications:
It has an enhancing effect on the chemical polishing of steel and stainless steel, and is used as a corrosion inhibitor in metal pickling, as well as in the preparation of palladium activation solution.

    Reactivity Profile:

UREA is a weak base. Reacts with hypochlorites to form nitrogen trichloride which explodes spontaneously in air [J. Am. Chem. Soc. 63:3530-32]. Same is true for phosphorus pentachloride. It reacts with azo and diazo compounds to generate toxic gases. Reacts with strong reducing agents to form flammable gases (hydrogen). The heating of improper stoichiometric amounts of urea and sodium nitrite lead to an explosion. Heated mixtures of oxalic acid and urea yielded rapid evolution of gases, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and ammonia (if hot, can be explosive). Titanium tetrachloride and urea slowly formed a complex during 6 weeks at 80° C, decomposed violently at 90 C, [Chem. Abs., 1966, 64, 9219b]. Urea ignites spontaneously on stirring with nitrosyl perchlorate due to the formation of the diazonium perchlorate. Oxalic acid and urea react at high temperatures to form toxic and flammable ammonia and carbon monoxide gases, and inert CO2 gas [Von Bentzinger, R. et al., Praxis Naturwiss. Chem., 1987, 36(8), 41-42].
