Zirconium propionate CAS 84057-80-7, also known as zirconyl propionate, white free-flowing powder manufactured in China. Zr(Hf)O₂ ≥50%, soluble in organic solvents. Zirconium propionate, also called zirconyl propionate, CAS number 84057-80-7, EINECS 281-897-8, is an organozirconium compound produced by professional Chinese zirconium chemical manufacturer for global ink and coating industries.

Our zirconium propionate appears as white free-flowing powder with a slight propionic acid odour. Standard grade Zr(Hf)O₂ ≥50%. It is insoluble in water, but highly soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate and isopropanol. The product features stable batch consistency, low heavy metal impurities and reliable crosslinking & adhesion promoting performance. It starts to decompose around 160℃ and converts into zirconia at higher temperature.

Zirconium propionate is a high-performance additive widely used in solvent-based ink and coating formulations:

Printing Ink Industry: Adhesion promoter for flexographic and gravure inks. Dramatically improves ink bonding on low-energy substrates such as PE, PP, polyester film and metal foil. Enhances heat resistance and scrub resistance of polyamide inks for flexible packaging.
Coating System: Crosslinking agent for nitrocellulose, CAP (cellulose acetate propionate) and PVA resin coatings, improves coating hardness, scratch resistance and adhesion to plastics & metals.
Advanced Materials: Organic zirconium precursor for solvent-phase synthesis of zirconia powder and zirconium-based functional materials.
Polymer Crosslinking: Crosslinker for oxygen-containing organic polymers, safer alternative to titanium acetylacetonate.
