      Physicochemical properties: The chemical structure of tert-butylcatechol is different from other monoolefins and dienes. The carbon-carbon double bond has a conjugated effect. Its chemical properties are very active and it is easy to form butadiene self-polymers, mainly dimers, peroxides, polyperoxides, rubber-like self-polymers, end polymers and furfural polymers. These butadiene self-polymers will block equipment and pipelines, causing the system pressure and pressure difference to rise, heat and mass transfer to deteriorate, and material transportation to be unsmooth. In severe cases, it can cause the operation to be unable to proceed, and cause major malignant accidents such as fire and leakage. In order to prevent or slow down the generation and increase of butadiene self-polymers, one of the measures currently taken is to use inhibitors, which can convert primary free radicals or chain free radicals into stable molecules, or form stable free radicals with very low activity that are not enough to continue the polymerization reaction, and lose the ability to initiate the polymerization reaction, thereby achieving the purpose of slowing down or inhibiting polymerization. Function: 4-tert-butylcatechol can be used as a highly effective inhibitor for the distillation or storage of olefin monomers; it can also be used as an antioxidant for polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polychloroprene, synthetic rubber, nylon, etc., as well as an antioxidant for various compounds such as oils and their derivatives, ethyl cellulose, and lubricating oils. In addition, it can also be used as a passivator for polyurethane catalysts, a stabilizer for pesticides and various organic compounds, etc.
