Inclisiran

Introduction
Inclisiran is the world's first and only small interfering RNA (siRNA) drug for lowering LDL-C. It blocks PCSK9 protein synthesis at the source and offers advantages in dosing frequency: patients receive a booster shot three months after the initial dose, followed by only two injections per year thereafter.

Mechanism of Action
As a PCSK9 inhibitor distinct from monoclonal antibody inhibitors, Inclisiran directly targets the mRNA encoding the PCSK9 protein. Through RNA interference, it reduces mRNA levels, thereby decreasing PCSK9 expression in the liver.

Applications
Inclisiran is a double-stranded small interfering RNA (siRNA) molecule that inhibits PCSK9 transcription. It is used in research on hyperlipidemia and cardiovascular disease (CVD).
