Product Detail

Fumaric acid, as a food additive, is an acidulant. It has a fruity sour taste and is strong, about 1.5 times that of citric acid. It is used in refreshing drinks, fruit candies, jellies, ice cream, etc. It is mostly used in combination with the acidulant citric acid. The monosodium salt made by the reaction of fumaric acid and sodium hydroxide is also used as an acid condiment and an intermediate for synthetic resins and mordants.

When used as a food acidulant, it plays an important role in antibacterial and antiseptic properties. When fumaric acid is used as an acidic substance for solid beverage gasifiers, the product bubbles are persistent and delicate. Fumaric acid medicine is used for the production of sodium dithiothiosuccinate for detoxification and iron-rich drugs for the treatment of microcytic anemia. It is also used to produce unsaturated polyester resins. Feed-grade fumaric acid and its esters are used as acidic preservatives to improve the palatability and utilization rate of feed.

In food, it is mainly used in the processing of meat products and fish products. Fumaric acid can be used as an acidity regulator, acidulant, antioxidant aid, pickling promoter, spice, etc.
