Nature:
White crystalline powder. It dissolves in water and is acidic in solution. Slightly soluble in alcohol. mp252℃ (decomposition); The pH value is about 5.3. It is subject to high thermal decomposition and produces toxic corrosive fumes.

Purpose:
Check calcium, magnesium, etc. Used in pharmaceutical industry, color development, rare metal smelting and other fields. It is an important complexing agent and metal masking agent

Preparation:
Add ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid and water into the enamel reaction tank, add sodium hydroxide solution under agitation, heat until full reaction, add hydrochloric acid to pH 4.5. Heat to 90℃ concentration, filtration, filtrate cooling, filter out crystallization, washing, drying at 70℃, to obtain disodium EDTA.

Precautions for safe handling

NO open flames. Handling in a well ventilated place. Wear suitable protective clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. Use non-sparking tools. Prevent fire caused by electrostatic discharge steam.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Dry. Well closed. Separated from food and feedstuffs and strong oxidants. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.

Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell

Skin contact: Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Eye contact :Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present

Ingestion ： Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell. Rinse mouth. Protection of first-aiders: A rescuer should wear personal protective equipment, such as rubber gloves and air tight goggles

DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Recycle to process, if possible. Consult your local regional authorities. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of the substance.
