N-(4-bromophenyl)-1, 2-phenylenediamine is a white or white-like crystalline solid. The compound is less soluble in water, but more soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and dimethyl sulfoxide.

Purpose:
N-(4-bromophenyl)-1, 2-phenylenediamine can be used as raw material and intermediate in organic synthesis. It can also be used in dye synthesis and the preparation of organic photoelectric devices.

Preparation:
A common preparation method is the synthesis of N-(4-bromophenyl)-1, 2-phenylenediamine by the reaction between aniline and p-bromobenzoic acid. The reaction is usually carried out under alkaline conditions and using a catalyst such as sodium bicarbonate.
