What is Bivalirudin Trifluoroacetate?

Bivalirudin, also known as Bivalirudin Trifluoroacetate, is a synthetic peptide drug used as an anticoagulant in medical settings. With a molecular weight of 2180 Daltons, it is a direct thrombin inhibitor that works by binding to both circulating and clot-bound thrombin, preventing the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin and thus inhibiting blood clot formation.
