It is a milky colloidal solution with a diameter of a few nanometers to a hundred nanometers. Heat curing into silicone. Non-combustible, non-explosive, non-toxic. The ions on the surface of colloidal silica particles are of hydrated type and are hydrophilic due to the covering of water molecules. Miscibility with organic matter is not good, for alcohol, acetone and water mixed into any proportion of organic solvents have miscibility. Soluble in hydrofluoric acid and sodium hydroxide solution. Insoluble in other inorganic acids.

Purpose:
Silica sol is a good inorganic binder. It is used for high shell strength, high casting precision, good finish, small deformation and safe work during high temperature roasting. Preparation:
Sulfuric acid method: water glass and sulfuric acid are diluted to a certain concentration and then neutralized to form hydrogel. After aging, washing, homogenization of additives, spray drying, air crushing and drying, fine silica aerogel is prepared.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Dry. Well closed. Separated from food and feedstuffs and strong oxidants. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.

Skin contact: Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Eye contact :Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present

DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Recycle to process, if possible. Consult your local regional authorities. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of the substance.
