4. Main purpose
In the field of cell biology, it is a highly sensitive cell activity detection reagent, mainly used for cell proliferation, cytotoxicity testing, and anti-tumor drug sensitivity testing. For example, it is a key component in the Cell Counting Kit-8 kit, which is reduced by intracellular dehydrogenases to generate water-soluble formazan. The activity and proliferation ability of cells are reflected based on the amount of formazan produced.
In the field of biochemistry, it can be used as a sensitive chromogenic indicator for detecting NADH and has important applications in studying changes in NADH content during cellular metabolism.
