    Characteristics

    Polyether modified silicone oil is a unique performance modified silicone oil made by grafting or block copolymerization of polyether and dimethyl siloxane. In addition to the characteristics of high bond energy, soft molecular chains, and low surface tension of organic silicon polymer compounds, it also has chemical activity brought by specific functional groups. Polyether modified silicone oil is a kind of water-soluble silicone oil.

    Polyether modified silicone oil has good lubricity, low surface tension, excellent softness and anti-static properties. It is non-toxic, non-corrosive and environmentally friendly, and is widely used in textiles, coatings, cosmetics and auxiliary additives.

    Polyether Modified Silicone Oil Use

    1. Textile and clothing industries :Polyether modified silicone oil is applied in the textile industry to endow fabrics with the following excellent properties,such as softness, hydrophilicity, anti-static, anti-shrinkage, elasticity, etc. Polyether modified silicone oil can also be used for synthetic fiber fabrics such as polyester and nylon, natural fiber fabrics such as cotton and linen, protein fiber fabrics such as wool and silk, blended fabrics such as cotton/polyester and wool/polyester,processing silk, yarn, and sewing thread. The processed fibers and silk have good luster, excellent slippage, and sewing properties.

    2. Daily chemical industry :Polyether modified silicone oil can be used in daily chemical products, such as various cosmetic pastes, emulsions, and shampoos, to keep hair loose, soft, shiny and easy to comb.

    3. Plastic industry :Polyether modified silicone oil is added as an internal additive to plastics for the production of drip free film greenhouses, anti-fog and improved light transmittance.

    4. Leather industry :Polyether modified silicone oil is the main component of advanced leather lubricants and finishing agents. It endows various natural leather surfaces with properties such as smoothness, brightness, softness and comfortable hand feel.

    5. Paint industry :Polyether modified silicone oil is an excellent additive for paint, which can improve the leveling of paint and make the coating smooth and shiny.

    6. Polyurethane industry :Polyether modified silicone oil is a leveling agent for polyurethane slurry and a foaming agent for rigid polyurethane systems, which makes the foam pores fine and uniform.

    7. Other industries :Polyether modified silicone oil is a key raw material for self-emulsifying defoamers and delayed coking defoamers in the refining industry. It can also be used as a release agent for resin systems, etc.

    Glacier Coolant’s history goes back to 1994, when the founder of Glacier Coolant, Mr Songquan Bai, first invented a fluid, that can solve the problem of most chemical factory facing at that time, that the glycol solution they use to cool their reaction in their process system, corroded the pipe and equipment seriously. This product won favorable comments immediately once putted on the market, and was widely spread in China. It improved the plant operation efficiency in fine chemical factory and API factory.

    Latterly, a series of anti-corrosion products were developed. By 2023, Glacier Coolant has more than 40 products covering a very wide temperature range from -110°C (-166°F) to 340°C (644°F), application industry expand to food and beverages, HVAC, cold storage, data center, fuel cell cooling etc. The product line includes silicon oil and thermal oil, and phase change materials (PCM) are also developed.

    Currently, the company’s manufacturing facility is in Chaoyang, Liaoning, China. We created our Laboratory Service Unit in Beijing to improve research capabilities. Laboratory Service division helps the customer to design the product that can meet their specific requirement and solve the technique problems they are encountering. The center can also provide sample analysis for the products the customer currently use.
