Methanol (Methanol), also known as hydroxyl methane, is an organic compound, is the most simple structure of saturated mono alcohol, its chemical formula is CH3OH/CH4O, which CH3OH is simple structure, methanol can highlight hydroxyl, CAS number 67-56-1, molecular weight 32.04, boiling point of 64.7℃. It is also called "wood alcohol" or "wood essence" because it was first found in the retorted wood.

Colorless clear liquid, its vapor and air can form an explosive mixture, burning to produce a blue flame. Critical temperature 240.0℃; Critical pressure 78.5 ATM. It can be miscible with water, ethanol, ether, benzene, ketone and other organic solvents. Its vapor and air form explosive mixture, in the case of open fire, high heat caused combustion explosion. Can react strongly with oxidant. In case of high heat, the pressure inside the container increases, there is a risk of cracking and explosion. Burning without flame. 1. 1. 1. Methanol is one of the basic organic raw materials used in the manufacture of various organic products such as methyl chloride, methylamine and dimethyl sulfate.
