Avanafil is a highly selective oral phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor. Phase I, II and III clinical trials showed that compared with other Chemicalbook phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors, Avanafil in the treatment of erectile dysfunction has the characteristics of rapid onset, short duration of action, less adverse reactions, and has good clinical effects and safety.

In vivo studies

Avanafil(intravenously administered) promotes penile erection with an ED200% of 37.5 MCG/kg in dogs. Injection of Avanafil(1μM) into a T2DM rat sponge resulted in local improvement of erectile response.
