• DuPont MEGUM™ 128 is a high-performance, solvent-based adhesive designed for bonding rubber compounds to metals and other rigid substrates during vulcanization. This industrial-grade adhesive is ideal for applications requiring strong, durable bonds in harsh environments.

• Environmental Resistance: Offers excellent resistance to humidity, corrosion, heat, salt fog, oil, and water exposure.

• Easy Application: Can be applied by brushing, dipping, or spraying. Compatible with most spray equipment.

• High Performance: Provides outstanding pre-bake resistance, allowing coated inserts to be pre-baked at 160°C (320°F) for up to 10-15 minutes without affecting bond quality.

• Long Shelf Life: 24 months when stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.

Application Instructions:

• Surface Preparation: Properly prepare the metal surface by degreasing and using mechanical or chemical pre-treatments like grit blasting or phosphatizing.

• Mixing: Thoroughly mix MEGUM™ 128 with a shear blade or propeller-type agitator. Use aromatic solvents like toluene or xylene for dilution.

• Application: Apply by brushing (undiluted), dipping (1 part adhesive + 0.1-0.3 parts diluent), or spraying (1 part adhesive + 0.3-0.7 parts diluent).

• Drying: Allow 30 minutes for drying at room temperature. Forced drying at 80°C (176°F) can reduce drying time to 5 minutes.

• Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe vapors or spray mist.

• Use in well-ventilated areas with proper exhaust systems.

• Keep away from heat, sparks, flames, and static discharge. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Storage:

• Store in tightly closed original containers in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.

• Preferred storage temperature: below 20°C (68°F).

• Limit indoor storage to approved areas equipped with fire protection.
