    • DuPont MEGUM™ 1261 is a high-performance, solvent-based cover coat adhesive designed for bonding rubber compounds to metals and other rigid substrates during vulcanization. It is typically used in conjunction with a THIXON™ or MEGUM™ primer for enhanced bonding performance.

      Key Features:

    • Black, solvent-based adhesive for general-purpose rubber-to-metal bonding.

    • Compatible with a wide range of elastomers: Natural rubber (NR), synthetic rubber (SBR, NBR, CR), and more.

    • Adheres to various substrates: Hot and cold rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and thermoplastics like polyamides and polyesters.

    • Excellent resistance to heat and environmental factors: Ensures durable bonds in harsh conditions.

    • Versatile application: Suitable for brushing, dipping, or spraying.

    Application:

    • Mixing and Dilution: Use aromatic solvents like xylene or toluene for dilution. Mix thoroughly before application.

    • Pre-bake Resistance: Can be pre-baked for 5-10 minutes at 160°C without affecting bond quality.

    Theoretical Coverage:

    • Approximately 10 m²/L at the recommended film thickness.

    Storage & Handling:

    • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat and direct sunlight.

    • Keep containers tightly closed and grounded before opening.

    • Shelf life: 24 months when stored below 25°C.
