What is Dihydroberberine ?

Dihydroberberine, also known as dihydroberberine, is a naturally occurring alkaloid that is a hydrogenated derivative of berberine and a metabolite of berberine.

Relationship with berberine and advantages

Higher bioavailability

After berberine is taken orally into the intestines, it will be reduced to dihydroberberberine in the intestines, which will be absorbed through the intestinal wall and then converted into berberine to work in the blood. Therefore, dihydroberberine can be absorbed by the intestinal wall more quickly, making its bioavailability higher than that of berberine.

Stronger efficacy and better safety

In terms of improving insulin sensitivity, blood glucose control, lipid metabolism and anti-inflammation, dihydroberberberine is more effective than berberine and has fewer side effects. For example, in terms of glucose and fat reduction, dihydroberberberine can reduce fat and glucose levels more effectively than berberine, and a dose of only 100mg/kg of dihydroberberberine can have similar or even better glucose and fat reduction effects than that of berberine at a dose of 560mg/kg.
