Chemical properties: White flammable crystalline powder with formaldehyde odor. Slowly dissolve in cold water, dissolve quickly in hot water. At 20 ℃, the solubility of 3H2O in water is 0.24g/100cm3H2O. Insoluble in ethanol and ether. Dissolve in caustic soda and potassium solutions. Used as a raw material for organic chemicals and synthetic resins, as well as a drug fumigant. Polyformaldehyde is a solid formaldehyde with high formaldehyde content, which is in the form of solid particles and easy to store and transport. At higher temperatures, it can transform into formaldehyde vapor, making it easy to replace high concentrations of formaldehyde in various reactions. This is beneficial for chemical synthesis, pharmaceuticals, and other industrial applications, especially in the synthesis of materials that require the use of anhydrous formaldehyde. It has a wide range of uses.
