Function of Moxonidine

Moxonidine is used as pharmaceutical raw material.
Moxonidine is a white powder, it's antihypertensive action has no obvious relationship with the binding of alpha 2 adrenergic receptor.
Pharmacological experiments on mice showed that this product can reduce the number of independent activities, synergize with pentobarbital to promote sleep in mice and inhibit the activity of central nervous system.
Moxonidine lowers blood pressure and slows heart rate, but has no significant effect on ecg and respiratory rate and depth.
