What is Ganirelix Acetate?

Ganirelix Acetate is a synthetic decapeptic compound in which its acetate, Ganirelixacetate, is an antagonist of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor. The amino acid sequence is Ac-D-2Nal-D-4Cpa-D-3Pal-Ser-Tyr-D-HomoArg(9, 10-ET2)-Leu-L-HomoArg(9,10Chemicalbook-Et2)-Pro-D-Ala-NH2. Clinically, it is mainly used in women receiving assisted reproductive technology controlled ovarian stimulation program to prevent premature luteinizing hormone peaks and to treat fertility disorders caused by this reason. The drug has the characteristics of less adverse reactions, high pregnancy rate and short treatment cycle, and has obvious advantages compared with similar drugs in clinical practice. At present, it has been listed in many countries and approved for listing in China in June 2013.
