    1、 Production cost difference
    Raw material requirements
    High purity manganese dioxide (≥ 99%) requires the use of selected manganese ore (iron content ≤ 0.03%) or chemical reagent grade raw materials, while electrolytic manganese dioxide (purity 91-95%) can use ordinary manganese ore (such as manganese carbonate). The cost difference in raw material screening leads to a 30-50% increase in the basic cost of high-purity products.


    Purification process
    Chemical synthesis methods require multi-stage purification (such as ion exchange, ultrafiltration, vapor deposition, etc.), while electrolysis mainly achieves impurity separation through electrolysis. For example, products with a purity of 99% require additional processes such as acid washing and ultrafine grinding, resulting in an energy consumption intensity that is over 50% higher than that of electrolysis.

    High purity production requires nanoscale crushing equipment (such as air flow mills) and clean workshops, with equipment depreciation costs 2-3 times higher than electrolysis methods

    Application :


    Electrolytic manganese dioxide is the excellent depolarizing agent for battery, it has the characteristics of large discharge capacity, strong activity, small volume, long service life etc., So it has become the critical component of the battery cathode mix in today's alkaline & lihtium ion batteries.

    Manganese dioxide, mainly used as a depolarizer in dry cell batteries, is the most important non-metallic form of manganese. In either traditional alkaline and rechargeable battery cells, Manganese dioxide takes in electrons through a redox reaction, becoming Manganese III oxide. It also has applications in lithium-ion technologies.
    It is also the primary precursor to ferromanganese, an alloy of iron used for its lower melting point and low cost.
    It is black in appearance and used to color glass and ceramics, as well as for cave art and possibly body paint in prehistorical eras. Further uses include the purification of drinking water, and production of pure oxygen and chlorine


    How to choose manganese dioxide ?

    Priority should be given to the production of electrolytic manganese dioxide in alkaline manganese batteries (with a dosage of 20-30%) and ordinary oxidation reaction catalysts (such as organic synthesis)


    Scenarios where high-purity products must be selected: MLCC dielectric materials (dielectric constant>4000), biomedical nanocarriers (drug loading ≥ 30%), semiconductor precursor preparation (square resistance<50 Ω/sq)
