    Purpose:


    Ethyl tetradecate is commonly used in the flavor and fragrance industry as a flavor enhancer and flavoring agent to provide neroli, cinnamon, vanilla and other fragrances.


    Preparation:


    Ethyl -tetradecanoate can be produced by the reaction of tetradecanoic acid with ethanol. The reaction is usually carried out under acidic conditions, usually using an acid catalyst such as sulfuric acid or sulfoxide chloride.


    - The specific preparation method can be used to mix tetradecanoic acid and ethanol according to a certain molar ratio, and carry out the acid esterification reaction under the control of temperature and time, and finally produce ethyl tetradecanoate.
